How to write a strong CV as a office manager

Concrete, no clichés — what works with recruiters.

Operational scope before personal qualities

The cliché office manager CV opens with "organised, communicative, calm under pressure". UK recruiters only believe that when they can see the operational scope. Put the scale on line 1: number of employees you cover facilities for, number of directors whose diary you manage, number of suppliers in your pool.

Make your value measurable

Office management work seems soft but often translates well into numbers: annual savings on contracts, number of onboardings per year, % day-one readiness, lead time on facility issues. One concrete number in a bullet ("£62K annual saving at equivalent square footage") is stronger than five adjectives.

Tooling explicit

Mention the exact systems you use daily (BambooHR, Workday, Concur, Notion, Asana, Slack, MS365). For scale-up recruiters this is a direct filter — they want someone productive on day 1, not someone who needs tool training first.
